This is how I do it.
I am Nicola, aka The Squid, camera in hand.
I am a film producer and underwater fine art photographer. All the captures I create are real - real people in real places with real connections in our natural environment.
No trick photography. No AI.
I shoot all underwater images whilst holding my breath, diving deep into the ocean. I am passionate about exploring how we can better connect to ourselves, each other and the environments around us.
Rather than focusing on form alone, I’m drawn to moments of individual expression - fleeting instances of self-awareness, vulnerability, and relationship with others and the natural world, revealing the deeper story beneath the aesthetic.
